Fractal Art Education

If you've never heard the word "fractal" before, you may be wondering what they are! If so, I have a full explanation, with pictures, in my fractal basics section.

Since my explanation of fractals is fairly basic, I've also included other fractal links to outside sources with great information, from student-level descriptions to much more advanced teachings, as well as information on Mandelbrot and Julia, two of the founders of fractal mathematics. Enjoy!

Since fractals involve heavy-duty mathematics & calculations, computers & software are an integral part of creating them. In my fractal software section, I list several of the fractal software programs that I've used and enjoyed, such as Ultra Fractal - which is my favorite, as well as links to some tutorials on how to use the various software programs.

In my fractal tutorials section, I have some basic tutorials on how to get started with making your own fractals. If you decide to try your hand at making fractals, there is so much information on the web too!
